That's what my Mam-maw always used to say. Bless her heart, I miss her so. She had macular degeneration and needed someone to drive her to the store, church or to Dillard's or Bealls. She would get ready and sit at the kitchen table with purse in hand ready to go, but sometimes she would have to wait a little while for someone to take her wherever she wanted to go. Ever since Brynn was born it has been hurry, hurry, hurry. Now, things are at a standstill it seems. We are all ready to go, but we are waiting on another precious soul to help us get there .
On the way back from the cafeteria I stopped and looked out at the trees. I noticed that the trees had buds on them, and then it suddenly hit me just how long we have been in the hospital. We came here when the trees were just losing their leaves and now life is about to begin again. I guess you could compare Brynn's life to the trees. She was born beautiful, but her heart became weaker and weaker and her little body seemed to wilt. A time will come when a new heart will bring a rebirth to her tiny body and she will be even more beautiful and healthy than before!
God bless you all and God bless Brynn and all of the precious children in this hospital!
I dedicate this post to my loving Mam-maw

Hello everyone! Well, Valentine's Day has come and gone...we were hoping Brynn would have received a new heart on that day. It wasn't meant to be, but we won't get discouraged!
Brynn has had a busy day today. I discovered that there might be a problem with Brynn's feeding tube. Sure enough, the x-ray showed that it had migrated out of her tummy. That meant she would need it to be taken out and replaced. She did get very upset and her heart rate went up, but she calmed down and I just laid her down for a long night's rest!
If Brynn hasn't received a new heart within the next month, the doctors want to do another cardiac catheterization and plan for the Glenn procedure. It is a surgery to remove the B-T shunt, which she will ultimately outgrow. It will also upgrade her condition to a more stable one.
She is just over 11 pounds (!) and the doctors and nurses are so excited. One of her doctors said that her thighs are really filling out, but that she hasn't reached thunder thigh status quite yet!
I'm going to try to post some pictures, so stay tuned!
Love to you all,
Amy

Oh, Amy, I've been just crying over this wonderful post you wrote about Mama...she was a sweet soul that loved you and all her grand children dearly...more than life.
ReplyDeleteYes, God is going to give Brynn the perfect heart...it could be today, tomorrow, next week, but, we cannot give up trusting Him, He will I know. Oh, if only I had something to tell you that would bring comfort to you, but all I can say is , "Trust Him".
Amy,
ReplyDeleteNot a day goes by that I don't think of you and Brynn. We are praying for you all. I love seeing the pictures of her and how she is grown. Hang in there girl, it has to get better.
